Is this it? Have we won the trade war? Can we drop all our tariffs, especially on primary metals, as all those millions of manufacturing jobs we blamed them for stealing come back like a magic wand was waved?

You argue like the tariffs were going to be a permanent fixture instead of simply a tool in negotiation of a trade agreement. You seem to be enamored with only the short-term effects instead of focusing on the long-term benefits to the US a whole. From what I have read, the farmers seem to be OK with Trump's moves.
You also seem to ignore the impact that having to go 2 years with lower soybean imports would have on China. Trump seems to have thought that the lack of soybean imports would have a greater toll on China than the reduced exports would have on the US. It would appear that he was correct, otherwise China would have just waited until the rest of the world upped their production. Apparently, reducing your country's agriculture imports by 10% severely affects your ability to feed 1.5 billion people.

All evidence points to this, at least as far as this administration & China are concerned.

What does that mean? Of course they would want our beans. Their government was punishing them with 25% tariffs in retaliation for our tariffs so they searched the world for other sources. Another year or so of that and our acreage would have shrunk so much and our competitors increased so much we would not be exporting to China.

This guy is in skule Rubio shill status.
It is VERY obvious that he's got an actual stake in the shite he's posting.
Moreover, 2 years ago, he ROUTINELY portrayed Trump and us as loving tariffs which was fricking idiotic on its face.

LOL, ya don't say IB. You mean, if the policy had not been a means to an end, it would have been destructive?

you just said that they're buying a fraction of what they bought in 2016. i posted an article saying that they're going to break the 2016 record.
so are they going to buy our soybeans or not? make up your mind.

As you can see from the trade deficit numbers—our imports are simply coming from other countries and ARE not hurting the economy.
