I think posters are referring to hypocrisy seen from SJW’s which is also why people booed the “message of unity”. Almost all of those athletes have spoken out in support of riots among many other things. How many of them actually attended any protests/riots or worked to make a change? Then when it comes time for them to put their money where their mouth is, they decide to just keep pocketing the money and stand for a moment of silence even though most have tweeted “we can’t be silent.”

It has EVERYTHING to do with politics being injected into sports. Period.
Think of it like this. Think of a political stance you don't agree with. Okay? Now, imagine going to a movie theater and paying $200 a ticket to see it, but before the movie plays, you have to hear the producer, the director, the actors, and the theater tell you "how shitty you are for being able to afford a ticket, and ignore the fact that we're all rich and wealthy. You're the problem and you need to change."
Think you'd be happy? Think you'd want to come back and hear that over and over, again and again, all the while paying more and more money to wealthy rich assholes who are calling you a jerk?
Any answer other than" no" is disingenuous.

It’s politics. Turns people ugly.
Some will view this as interjecting politics into sport and supporting anarchy, violence, destruction and anti Americanism
Others will view it as an honest on the surface plea for unity amongst all people.
Both are “right” in a sense and that’s why this never goes away.
