Here are a few fun facts.

They want to remove it because Sacagawea looks subservient. Did you know 100 years before "womens sufferage" was coined, Sacagawea was the first woman to vote in the United States. It was an expedition funded and sanctioned by the US Govt and all critical decisions were taken by vote...including Sacagawea.

They say it was an "decendent" of Sacagawea who is protesting. If she is an ancestor then it means her great great great grandfather was probably Jean Baptiste who was born during the voyage of discovery. If so, that means she is asking for the removal of her great great grandpappys step father. Because you see, not only was Clark so racist he had a native woman vote 100 years before the govt approved......he raised Jean Baptiste NOT Sacagawea, who believed the boy would have a better life in a white mans world.

There’s no logic behind it, other than the desire to destroy, and the desire to replace these statues with ones of their own.

Statues are a huge drain on public resources. If a private entity wants to put one up on private property that is their right. Given the political atmosphere it would be best if the government stayed out of the memorial game.

No, they'll continue to blame "a history of racism" on every failure by every non-white group just as they'll blame "phobia" for the failure of every "marginalized" group.

They are so brave.

I'd like to see them make the trek Lewis and Clark did.

They would make it 12 hours in the wilderness.

Good, get rid of the history so we can be sure it repeats itself.

That’s cowardly and repugnant position.

In a healthy functioning society, we use heroes, like Lewis and Clark, to set an example, for everyone to emulate. In whatever way they can.

The city council only announced their plan, twenty minutes before they did it.

They were terrified of the reaction, if they gave people a chance to have one.

You can have all the memorials you want. Just don’t fund them with taxpayer money. I’m sure you are all supportive of the George Floyd memorial. See the problem?

So you would run away? That, that is your solution?

God have mercy.

Run away from government waste. Absolutely! I probably read 20-30 books pertaining to history each year. I don’t need a government issued memorial to appreciate or know about the subject. How much was spent on the Huey P Long statue at the capitol. What public good was achieved from it’s construction ?

No I understand it perfectly. You propose an atomized society of one. It’s abhorrent.
