I didn't say anything about mandates.

I know you like to misrepresent the things I've said, but this should be pretty simple, even for you.

You didn't, but that is the context of the conversation. Your "layered defense" was a non sequitor to that context, particularly without a caveat.

Meh, I do no such thing.

I was specifically asking you to clarify. As you know, I'm a reasonable a motherfricker as there is on this board.

That's correct.

You could've stopped here.

Nice chat.

I'd much rather have a 11B teaching my kids than these tatted, pierced, blue-haired freak teachers from TikTok.

If you have an AA you can be a substitute teacher ….
What’s the (d)ifference?

The ability to actually teach seems important. Why would a discharged veteran (honorably or otherwise) automatically have that skill?

Why would someone with a bachelor's degree?

There's a shortage. They can probably teach better than an empty podium.

Some of the best teachers I know are prior vets. My wife is also a teacher that went to college. If they pass the teaching exam for that particular subject why would a state not want them teaching?

Trust me here. The Crist campaign has NO CHANCE of winning. They know that. Their only goal is to ding up Desantis and make him a less viable presidential candidate, regardless what year he decides to run.

I'm guessing that most of our current teachers in the US are education majors, not history majors teaching history.

How's that working out? I'd think once you're out of elementary school subject matter expertise trumps "how to teach" expertise.

No one cares about what sheep have to say. I'm certified in air quality and you could wear 30 mask but they still won't work .

All this Florida thing does is turn Vets into babysitters. They'll teach to the test, it'll be questions straight from the textbook. Essentially, it'll be what happens when you get football coaches in the classroom.

Are you a teacher or a veteran?

Because education majors never do that.

It's filling a need, mensa. There's a teacher shortage, this is one way to address it. It's not as if there are highly qualified teachers straining at the bit to teach in a public school and we're turning them down so we can hire a cannon cocker with an associate's degree. I don't know if you're shilling for the teacher's union or what, but you don't seem interested in offering alternatives.

There are TONS of shitty teachers out there with education degrees, so stop acting like it's some golden badge that guarantees excellence.

In response, how does one with a degree in Education guarantee that they will be able to teach? They may have a degree, but can they relate to students and inspire them to learn the subject?

We see a lot of radicals out there that don't care about teaching as much as indoctrination.
