That's confusing. Are you saying things are ok as they are, or you need to restrict some speech so "everyone" will be heard?

Everyone is not equally important. That is life.

A successful businessman is more valuable to society than a slug living in his parents' basement.

I honestly don't understand how someone can be okay with person A being allowed to buy a bigger megaphone in order to effectively deny another citizen their speech but hey different strokes. Enjoy your oligarchy.

Yeah, that's whacked.

You're not excluded from your "speech" becaue the Kochs or the AFL-CIO spends a bunch of money.

I don't want to deny anyone's speech, just prevent them from injuring or preventing other use of speech. There are plenty of restrictions on "free speech" as it is. Go yell fire in a crowded theatre and see what happens.

Yes, I am. I can't pay 30 million dollars to anyone's campaign or SuperPac.

This analogy is like nails on a chalk board to me and has no application to the subject at hand.

Lets just say for a second I had 10 billion dollars. I can now go to Hillary or Rand or some senator or whoever and tell them I will donate 10 million dollars a month to their campaign every month in perpetuity. What kind of access is that going to get me? Not only that but what kind of influence will what I want that politician to say or vote for have on his or her actions relative to the rest of his or her constituency? How healthy is this for our system of governance? If I do this for enough politicians at what point do I, as a single solitary citizen, have undue influence over the actions of our elected officials? Go ahead and take how you feel about my political opinions into account when answering this question.

You still only have 1 vote. Numbers wise, a welfare queen can cancel you out.

Rand and company still have to answer to the majority.

#1 No biggie with all that money i donated we can produce a shitload of propaganda to brainwash the masses into thinking whatever we want.

#2 How many things that go on in congress a part of the day to day consciousness of the average working stiff who is busy with their own problems? I can get all kinds of shite done if I play it smart most people wouldn't be the wiser until it's too late.

Well then the masses get what they deserve.

Sounds like you are starting from an opinion of most voters are stupid.

Then why not fight the size and power of the government.. Cutoff the reward and there won't be a need to attempt to rig the system.
