It's an editorial that uses cherry-picked facts in an attempt to bolster the writer's opinion.

well if the article is so dishonest then surely you can point out everything that's wrong with it, right?

It's not always so much the facts that are wrong. It's that supposed "hard news" is presented in a way that is constantly negative towards the right even when they are supposed to be neutral.
They often don't tell the "whole truth and nothing but the truth". They may leave things out, and not present it in the proper context so that it makes the right look bad.
The "hard news" from these media corporations, which is supposed to be neutral, is anything but.

What? This article lays out EVERYTHING. It's a giant snapshot of Trump's first month.

Article is joke and this is why:
Did the media also point out how bad it was that Obama did not appoint any Republicans in his administration? No they didn't.
All of a sudden, Trump is supposed to include Democrats in his administration?

Indeed, perhaps the best way to describe Trump's first month is with three Cs — conflict, chaos, and constant.
"Chaos" is hyperbole and therefore fake news. A court not siding with him is not a sign if chaos. An appointee being let go because of dishonesty with one of the bosses is not chaos. Someone passing up a job offer because they can't bring in their own people is not chaos. Was the Obama admin in chaos when they had trouble finding a replacement for Hagel?
The reason I point out that word "chaos" is because that's about as far as most people will read. NBC achieves it's goal of trying to shake confidence.

Trump’s First Month Has Been Anything But a ‘Fine-Tuned Machine’
Subjective and not a fact based title.
quote:
The last 24 hours perfectly summed up President Trump's first month in office. In a 77-minute news conference Thursday to voice a series of grievances, Trump declared that his administration was running "like a fine-tuned machine," saying: "I turn on the TV, open the newspapers and I see stories of chaos. Chaos! Yet it is the exact opposite.
That is opinion.

That is subjective perception. FWIW, Trump encourages conflict. Trump is not a goal oriented person. He's a process person (most successful business people are). Most people are goal oriented...which usually leads to failure. Cuck Todd does not get that. Conflicts are part of the process.
I'm not reading anymore. The piece is obviously written for the Democrat base to coddle their confirmation bias.

Oh I can see what we're doing here. We're just going to pretend that I didn't point out the obvious and ignore my response. The news isn't fake because they are always factually inaccurate. The news is fake because of what they choose to cover and how they choose to cover it and what they choose to focus on and how they choose to focus on it. And conversely what they choose not to cover and what they choose not to focus on and what they choose to ignore. I mean sure they do lie also. But that's really not the Crux of why they are crap

Well, lets start with the fact that either you or the writer don't know the difference between news and editorial.
That article is not news. It's commentary. It's subjective judgement.
That makes it fake news. Especially when the masses are exposed to these talking points - news factoids painted with an opinion brush - that seem to flow straight from the DNC into the ear and out of the mouths of every left leaning MSM outlet, which are most of them.
I watched the presser yesterday. I thought Trump did well. His style is bombastic and cocky, but he showed more balance and humanity than usual. My impression was that he is learning a bit to be more balanced.
Then I read a chorus of news outlets that tell me how UNHINGED he was.
Well, that's like your opinion, man, and I don't agree. And quit floating that opinion like it's news. I don't need, nor do I want for the media to prechew my food and tell me what it tastes like.

For a minute, I thought you were serious. And then I started reading....Lol at that progressive narrative masquerading as an unbiased account of his first month.

So, now the narrative is that its not exactly "fake" news- its just dishonest in "how" its presented?
I'm confused- isn't the very definition of "dishonesty"- Lying? If what the press is reporting is not a lie, then how is it "fake"? Are the press making these stories up?
Posted on 2/17/17 at 10:15 am to Superior Pariah
What is pathetic is that article isn't under any "editorial" section. It's the lead "story" on NBC News' politics section.
That right there is what makes it "fake news".

You won't like it and you will say I am deflecting, but I stopped when I saw "Chuck Todd".
He is a classic case of disqualifying yourself completely. I will not try to wade through what he writes simply because he has shown himself to be agenda-driven. His torrent of tweets yesterday was just the latest evidence. Among them was him saying "this is about people in power using a bully pulpit to do this. There's a HUGE difference."
If he does not believe that the media has huge power, then he is simply delusionally ignorant. That's bad.
The thing is, he DOES know they have this power, but he expects US to believe otherwise. That's worse.
So, he is either woefully ignorant of the sway his platform holds over the unwashed masses, or he does know it but wants to maintain it by pretending otherwise. Either way, he is a perfect example of a media that is so out of touch with Main Street Middle America that he should not have the platform he does, and he is only trying to hold on to it.
Given this framing he has created for himself, I simply won't try to rationalize his bluster.

Sure, there have been good moments (the Gorsuch pick, the meetings with business and union leaders). And, yes, all new White Houses have their struggles.
Did it not satisfy your quota of complimenting Trump?

Who was it a "clusterfrick" for, 300 people waiting in an airport? Snow storms do more than that.
You're obviously easily suckered in by the hyperbole and hyperventilating. Step back and be honest if you can. Not chaos.

Oh and no the very definition of dishonesty has nothing to do with lying they are two different things. Sure lying can be a form of dishonesty but it isn't required to be dishonest. If you are really going to tell me that I have to explain to you how you can be dishonest without telling a lie then I'm sorry what are you five? If you are a teenager or ever have been a teenager you know how to be dishonest without telling a lie
