So, normal psychosis, even treated, is almost always a lifelong condition and those people need to be institutionalized for a lifetime if violent in thought or action, like we did when the world was rational.
Postpartum psychosis is almost exclusively temporary if treated appropriately, which hers was not, and they need help until they are free of the condition. They do not need a lifetime of confinement.
They also need, in my opinion, to be sterilized if violent, murderous thoughts or actions are a feature of their psychosis, as to not have another round of PP on the next birth.
Andrea Yates had PP with her 4th child and it was almost a tragedy and then her stupid husband got her pregnant yet again, on purpose, and this time she drowned all 5 of her children in the family bathtub...
So, the answer is no, not only women need compassion for psychotic breaks with reality, and they all need separation from society for a while or forever.

That means we cannot allow women to be in any kind of profession or position of power or control where potential psychosis may cause harm to others, especially on a great scale.
