Were you aware that Carter Page was an FBI informant in the prosecution of 2 Russian spies?

He wasn't an informant. He testified about the fact that they tried to recruit him. But I don't think he was working for the FBI.

He may have indeed been working for US intelligence

But nothing supports Peter's claims

I've read that article. It says that Trump said he had nothing to do with writing or changing the platform.

You can't seriously believe that.

Very interesting that the specific day of the month on each application are blacked out.. what would be the purpose of doing that? Why would the specific day matter??

I’m gonna speculate that the reason the dates are blacked out is because the original application was altered at some point—

Regardless, it’s very obvious now that all the fbi used was the same info from the same sources that they recycled through various media outlets. I’d be willing to bet that the unredacted versions would prove they never acquired any additional information from the start of app #1 through the last application. Are we supposed to believe that all the way through October of 2017- when carter page would have known for at least 9 months at that point- that he was being surveilled, was still interacting with Russians and doing nefarious things that would give the FBI new evidence to renew the application ? What did they find from April 2017 through July 2017 to justify the renewed warrant?? I’d be willing to bet that whatever it was, it was fabricated- bc Rosenstein had to sign off on the July request in order for Mueller to be able to use the prior existing evidence. Hence the reason no renewals were requested after that.

The entire process was fabricated from start to finish. EVERYTHING. They manufactured enough recycled evidence to allow them to spy on not only on Trumps entire presidential campaign, but also president Trump and members of his administration after he was in office. Regardless of political party, this should outrage EVERY American citizen. Every last person who was involved in ANY aspect of this farce needs to be hanged publicly. If they’re brazen enough to do this to the president of the United States, imagine what they’ll do to the average citizen.

Delegates write platforms, not candidates.

The fact is: the platform in 2016 was more tough than the platform in 2012 on russia.

Tell me why the Republicans will not release the original of the platform.

Delegates write platforms??? And the candidate just goes along with what the delegates write up?

Come on.

Were there more safeguards in it; laws on unmasking? or just a FISA court someone like Obama used as political espionage?

And to the poster that said the R's will use it against the D's. BS they will they all play for the same team. It is called the uniparty. Any R's that are not in the big boys club like Rand would never use the FISA court to spy, nor spy on the media (James Rosen, Sharyl) DC, SCOTUS, The media.

I don't think you actually read the article.

Here's another one, more in-depth.

LINK
quote:

The end result was that at the behest of the Trump campaign, the platform committee took out the first paragraph of Denman's amendment altogether. They took out the reference to "lethal defensive weapons" from the second paragraph. But they approved her statement of support for maintaining, and possibly increasing, sanctions against Russia, and, in the place of lethal aid, substituted a pledge to provide "appropriate assistance to the armed forces of Ukraine" and to work more closely with NATO. Here again is the final language that was added to the platform as a result of Denman's amendment:

We support maintaining and, if warranted, increasing sanctions, together with our allies, against Russia unless and until Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity are fully restored. We also support providing appropriate assistance to the armed forces of Ukraine and greater coordination with NATO defense planning.

There was never a subcommittee vote on the change. People in the room, speaking anonymously, estimate that perhaps a handful of delegates supported Denman, another small group opposed, and a larger number were neutral, and happy with the compromise. There was no revolt.

"The platform ended up tougher than it started, compared from the beginning to the end," Denman told me, although she added she still believes her lethal aid provision should have been included in the final document.

By the way, in our conversation, Denman stressed her support of Donald Trump. She came to the convention a Ted Cruz delegate bound to vote for the Texas senator on the first ballot. But when Trump wrapped up the nomination, Denman told me, she supported him, contributed to him, and voted for him. And she supports him today.

"We move on," Denman said. "We go forward."

Not long after the platform subcommittee meeting, the Post's "Trump campaign guts GOP's anti-Russia stance on Ukraine" story was published, and a new conventional wisdom began to form: The Trump team, doing the bidding of Vladimir Putin, gutted the GOP platform's position on behalf of Russia.

That is precisely the opposite of what happened. In the end, the platform, already fairly strong on the Russia-Ukraine issue, was strengthened, not weakened, as a result of the subcommittee meeting. The Trump campaign agreed to a platform condemning Kremlin belligerence, calling for continued, and perhaps increased, sanctions against Russia, for the full restoration of Ukrainian territory, for refusing to accept "any territorial change in Eastern Europe imposed by force, in Ukraine or elsewhere," and pledging to aid Ukraine's armed forces.

They had to have gone FISA judge shopping.

It all needs unredacted. Sunshine is needed or we are doomed.
