This x infinity. Secret courts granting warrants should never be allowed.

Ron Paul got called a lunatic by most Republicans in 2008 and 2012 when he called for the complete abolition of the NSA and FISA Court. He was correct then and he is correct now. A secret court authorizing clandestine domestic surveillance on its citizens has no place in a society that calls itself the "Land of the Free". And yet Republicans still by and large vote to give the NSA more and more power.
This is so damned true! And they had some hearing on the FISA court months ago--(no one paid it any mind-why I don't know...) and kept the beast going under nat sec concerns.

Actually, there was a bill to re-up the fisa court

Now ask me who sponsored it

HIC also did this when led by Democrats.

But the takeaway is who had concerns about this bill. Who did?

Probably need FISA is some frm, but to me it obviously needs some sort of real oversight.

See, I don't always agree with Nunes.

Carter Page practically announced that he was working with Russian intel

Were you aware that Carter Page was an FBI informant in the prosecution of 2 Russian spies? He infiltrated their network and worked with the FBI for several years. He was on the FBI payroll as late as spring 2016.

How he can go from paid FBI informant to "Russian spy" in a matter of weeks is beyond comprehension.

That's cool, neither does he

There was actually a bill that had some checks on fisa in it, but obviously that was shot down. Nunes bill apparently made it even worse, believe it or not. Here's an article: LINK

It's almost like someone made it all up. But it's reality.

You really think Republicans are going to get rid of FISA before they can use it to spy on the Dems.

I have read the opposite of your linked story.

No one probably really knows, unless they pick the authorization apart, and I haven't, nor am I going to.

Something is going to need to be done. I don't think the Russian thing is nothing. I won't touch DJT, and it is overblown, but it isn't nothing. The intelligence spying on another campaign under false pretenses however is something. Under reported. Not yet fully developed. But it looks like there will be more there, there, than there will be in the Russian thing.

And the Yahoo article wasn't just about Page, they were citing a story about Trump "changing the GOP platform to be nicer to Russia." It's BULL shite that has been debunked endlessly. And yet here it is in a FISA warrant.

Debunked by who?
