BULLYING {ON} OFF

quote:

On Monday (March 4) at noon, a deadline set by New Orleans Council City Vice President J.P. Morrell passed, at which time Mayor LaToya Cantrell was to have all of her personal belongings cleared out of the controversial Pontalba Apartment and the keys turned back over to the public entity that owns it, the French Market Corporation.

Noon came and went. No keys were turned over. No extension was requested. Morrell said the council will move forward with eviction proceedings, beginning with a vote on Thursday.

Monday night, just before 9:30 p.m., the mayor’s office released a statement that offered few answers and claimed the mayor has not been using the apartment.

The suggestion that the Mayor is somehow holding up the process regarding the renovation of the building and rental market availability is incorrect,” the statement reads.

It said, “several inaccurate remarks have been circulating regarding the Pontalba Building.” It did not say what the reports were, where they originated, or what was inaccurate about them.

The apartment was ordered to be relinquished from the mayor’s control and put back into commerce last August. In his letter demanding she relinquish the keys last week, Morrell said that Cantrell’s team had the only key.

No shite.

Because they have no good excuse for why she is in the apartments and her stuff is still there.

Go place it wherever they put the statues in storage so it can be sold off for scrap.

I hope the next Lee Zurick video shows the constables tossing the Mayor’s personal effects on the curb in Jackson Square.

And here I thought there was no way New Orleans could elect a more corrupt and inept mayor than Ray Nagin... Place would be better off as a landfill...

Hire a locksmith, open the door and take all of her stuff and put it in the nearest dumpster. Then change the locks. She had her chance, now dump her crap and deny her further access.

She has no excuse. She doesn't have that discretion. The Council has spoken. She needs to comply - not haggle. That's insurrection.

I joked upthread that the problem is that their trucks get jacked whenever they stop to work a job.

Bleach ? Hell no , sue her directly for damages and gut the place. If not the next resident will sue for not informing on long term effects of La’trell disease. Stupidly and contemptuous behavior are significant consequences

Just go take it and change the locks. It's mind boggling that things don't just get done. What's she gonna do, sue? SHE MISSED THE DEADLINE

she's just rubbing your noses in it now. more delays, more 'proceedings' all the while she is kicked back in the apartment laughing.

this is a win for latoya per usual.
