They don't want to admit they were wrong about him, even if it means supporting a war.

It was strictly performative to satisfy their Trump/USA-hating citizens. They might have had the weakest position of any trading partner.

This is great news for my company in particular. General Cable is one of our main suppliers at over 2 million pounds a year.

Lot of guys quoting building projects just breathed a sigh of relief.

Ton of construction supplies come from up there.

Canadians won. Now they have less taxes to pay.

So they are removing the tax/increase in price their citizens would have had to pay on American gods—but we are keeping the tax/increase in price Americans will have to pay on imported Canadian goods?

Is that a win?

This only applies to retaliatory tariffs …. and it’s only unilateral.

Canada is in a very precarious position …. their economy is vulnerable and this decision further telegraphs that to US negotiators.

Because he has no goal.

Return mfg or end tariffs, both of your goals are at odds with each other.

only Roger would try to say Trump lost when the tariffs did precisely what he wanted them to do. You would be gloating if they didn’t remove tariffs too. You have one conviction. OMB.

Youre such an idiot. I explain the cornerstones of markets to you, and you think I'm talking about your orange puff daddy.

Talk about TDS.

It was definitely illogical.

There's only 2 scenarios where their course had a chance of success:

1. The liberal/panican whining would cause Trump to reverse course and that required Trump to follow standard narratives as lain out by our media.

2. Trump neither had the will (personally) and political capital to ignore the GOP and donors.

In other words, Canada's course was doomed from the start because neither #1 or #2 ever had a chance and was nothing but echo chamber leftist bullshite.

The Canadians still have to pay the US an increase price to ship into the US, but we aren’t being charged for shipping US goods into Canada.

Roger knows that Canadian tarrifs are really bad for Canada.

Roger didn’t know that Trump knew the strategy for this Canadian economy killer.

Trump is saving Canada too.
