Sobering statistics inside. Only 1 in 3 of your fellow citizens can pass. Numbers are broken down by age, sex, race, education, and political affiliation. It isn't pretty.

Take a look at the numbers for those 65 and older. Is it any surprise that the culture of the country continues to fray as fewer and fewer people possess an accurate understanding of our basic history? If you don't know why we fought the British, how could something like that ever be important to you?

Take the test and give it a spin.

But I'm a History major who actually loves the subject, so there is that.

Got 89.5, still don’t understand why that’s the citizenship test but not sure I know what a citizenship test should look like or why one should exist. Would rather see a citizenship financial and work ethic evaluation.

100% 19/19.

However, the question about the 1st Amendment is wrong. The 1st Amendment does not "give" the right that is the "correct" answer. It states that the government cannot interfere with that right by prohibiting any laws which would abridge said right.

I believe it's a pretty involved process. I know if the applicant has even a misdemeanor tht's picked up in the background check, denied unless it's expunged. Then there's a time aspect wherein they're monitored as to seeking employment, paying taxes, etc. Amongst other requirements Im sure. It isn't easy, and Im sure those who earnestly go thru the process don't appreciate line skippers and their enablers.

I missed the first one (thinking “financial crisis” might’ve had to do with taxation without representation) and the one about the Federalist Papers.

Can we require people to pass it at the polls before voting?

Yeah that question was really misleading. We didn’t fight the Brits simply because they were quartering men in our homes. It completely ignores the entire taxation without representation. That would certainly equate to a financial crisis in a manner of speaking.
