This times 100! I don't use the new crap, but I will lose or break the old style ones I have eventually, and then I will have to resort to the other method... funnel and remove the nozzle crap completely.
I tried once to use the new crap and couldn't get a drop out. Will never try again.

The old gas cans served an important function in societal evolution. If you were so stupid you died trying to pour gas then you're too stupid to pass on your genes to another generation.

The new gas cans are not neccesarily mandated by the Govt. I saw a Stossel report a few yrs ago that said that US manufacturers of gas cans were all out of business and that 80-90% of the cost of a gas can goes to pay lawsuit settlements.

Buckee's used to have the old cans.
And I'm not sure if it was ever a federal mandate. It started as California state frickery but they're such a big chunk of the economy that manufacturers found it easier to just make them all California compliant. Biden might have formalized that but it was already unofficially in effect.

I just want to be able to put gas in our jet skis without looking like a woman who doesn’t know how to do that simple task. I know how to put gas in the jet skis. The gas can doesn’t know how to put gas in the jet skis.
