Haven't realized by now that most of the court system has already been bought and pai(D) for? Lol

I don't disagree and suspect the prospects of winning might not be good, but the question is CAN they sue for defamation?

Of course they can. You can sue for anything. I'm actually surprised they haven't gone after the media. That would be a big payday when you look at the blatant lies they've told.
Sandman got nicely compensated for far less.

Jr isn't smart enough, Eric is though

Courts will rule "no standing".

Of course they can.
Lots of not-easily-overcome legal hurdles in trying to sue government employees and media outlets for defamation though, given the way most defamation laws are written these days.

I am no lawyer, just a regular guy but seems like media could just say they did due diligence vetting source and information and thought it was solid.

Certainly. This situation pales in comparison to the defamation regarding Trump not raping someone decades ago.

I believe he already sued the DNC and the Hillary campaign, but the suit was dismissed, and the judge ruled that Trump had to pay Clinton $1mm

For what? Reporting that Don, Jr. took the meeting at Trump Tower on the explicit expectation he was going to get dirt on Clinton from the Russians?

I would think Papadopolous and Flynn might have better chances in a lawsuit

If not, maybe we can "strengthen" the laws in DC to make this happen. It worked for NY.

1- this definitely bolsters Mike Flynn’s existing lawsuit
2-the best viable claim for Trumps is malicious prosecution IMHO (action was instituted by Hillary and Deep State without probable cause, so malice is presumed) and Trumps were ultimately exonerated
3- since Durham didn’t prosecute anyone, just wrote a report nobody will read, the only chance for accountability is impeachment of the involved parties (even retroactively since the Democrats impeached Trump retroactively), so that, where possible, a congressional act that revokes their federal retirement and security clearance.
4- I hate everything, and I’m not nearly as pissed about the Russia Hoax which I never believed anyway than the entire DOJ failing to investigate ballot stuffing and Biden being owned by Chi-nah

Considering that a necessary element of defamation is that the allegedly defamatory statements need to be false, the answer is no. You're welcome, son!
