Yeah I heard that too. After seeing video of that lunny sermon he delivered at that so-called Christian Church I can see why they try to pass him off as moderate.

Yep. In reality, the problem is they likely can't find a normal male D who can appease their first round of gatekeepers.
Give me 2 hours in the metroplex and I can find you a Democrat dude who hunts and fishes and has a normal family and speaks like a functional adult male. But he probably hasn't placated the freaks sufficiently to get their backing.
I mentioned it before, but how hard could it be to find a Ruben Gallago in Texas? Not that he's going to win me over with masculinity, but he at least looks semi-comfortable in his own skin, whereas Talarico looks more like a "it puts the lotion on the skin" type.
