Can a pharmacy refuse to fill a prescription of HCQ?

Boss tested positive for Covid and was prescribed HCQ. Walmart refused to fill it, so he had to go to a local pharmacy.

I thought that was odd, can a pharmacy even refuse to fill a script that is legit? Especially one that isn’t even a controlled substance. I would think that’s illegal.

Why wasn't it called in to a specific pharmacy in this day and age? Honestly asking.

I don’t know if they called it in or not. Some doctors still just use a pad. My gf gets her scripts handwritten by her dr and drops them off

They should be able to order it. It’s not an exotic drug.

They can refuse to fill anything but if I was an MD I would refuse to send a script there.

I would find it odd if a pharmacy could refuse to stock or fill HCQ.

Other pharmacies have gotten in big trouble for the pharmacist on duty refusing to dispense the morning after pill under religious grounds so I don’t see how they can deny someone HCQ.

Entire states banned it early on during the Dem scare program. Didn’t last long

In TX, we can fill the HCQ, Azithromycin cocktail if the DR indicates on the Rx that the patient was Covid+. I don't personally try and verify any of that shite cause you assholes are asking where the toothpaste is all day. Basically if a Dr just writes a script for HCQ and doesn't notate anything about covid or whether they are using it for non covid use, then it won't get filled. We have seen brain dead leftist doctors refuse to prescribe this on political grounds in the early stages. Had it happen to a family member. They told the Dr to eat a bag of D's and found a different one that prescribed it. The delay of about 5 days cost this man a 3 week trip to the ICU because he started late. His wife took it and improved immediately. Shame you have to screen your Dr's political leanings in this day and age.

pharmacies can refuse any filling. furthermore, HCQ does very little and a trial proved it. I'm not discouraging anyone from it, but if you believe in trials and science, then HCQ is next to meaningless for recovery. If you understand the FDA and big pharma, that's all you need to know.

One of my parents was prescribed HCQ for another issue and it is still Pending between CVS and the insurance 24 hours later without being filled. Not sure what the deal is.

My daughter said that early on they had a run on it and they were afraid that their regular patients wouldn't be able to fill their normal scripts.

So that might be the case.

As opposed to the one that is prescribed via an electronic prescription, as in this day an age?
