So we have the right of a child (at an age of consent) to choose his/her gender. If that involves public schools, what about the rights of the other children who might not feel comfortable using the same school restroom as the 16 year old kid who says he identifies with being a female?
From my understanding of libertarianism ( based upon The Law), one key tenet is to not infringe upon the rights of others. How would this situation be played out in the libertarian world, if the "rights" of the female students were being affected by the transgendered individual, born a male, who wants to use the women's restroom?

You know what? Let's just change the terminology from "Men's Restroom" and "Women's Restroom" to "The Pole" and "The Hole." Gender identity has nothing to do with it. Fair enough?

That is seriously fricked up. The state will take children away from parents who get caught smoking a joint, but let these insane pukes experiment on a child.

I dunno, some of my gay friends said they knew they were gay from a very young age, like 5.
The point is actually whether to unnecessarily ensconce abnormal childhood behavior in a way which might well contribute to lifelong pathology.
The issue in this case being an uncertain prognosis prior to puberty unless the parents actively engrain the GID.

But seriously, there's always a distinction drawn in these discussions between biological sex and gender. Can't it just be said that restrooms are sex-determinant and leave it at that?
