C’mon man, this is just bullshite. It’s not a matter of making anything legal. This is a matter of the MANDATORY listing on the register for life.
I agree that sexual predators should be immediately eliminated, but adding a bunch of iffy bullshite to the register diminishes it’s effectiveness.

It’s a bullshite news article in that it leaves out this part and the fact that it’s not all minors but 14-17.
That being said, 10 years for any kind of relationship is insane. Some grace period for a 19 year old with a 17 year old girlfriend makes some sense. That’s not really all that creepy, but in what world 24 year old fricking a 14 year old not land you on the sex registry
The California Supreme Court said it’s because they don’t want the father of a potential child being stigmatized.
Which is some arse back ways logic.

I agree with this too and honestly question whether we should have a sexual registry. Once a person serves their sentence they should be done, that’s it, no more punishment. Having the scarlet letter over them continues the punishment well after they are free. If they are a risk or we feel they aren’t safe to be out there then their prison sentence needs to be expanded.
