Thanks, California! Not that I needed it, but you have given me more reason to support why I still have zero reason to ever consider an electric car...

Buy our electric cars and save the planet. But park them in your garage forever.

It's not the same thing. I didn't see a single person say that Texas told citizens to turn their AC off when they said to turn your AC up to like 82 overnight. Not one article, not one post, no one said that they were telling citizens they needed to turn their ACs off...because it's not the same thing, just like telling people to charge during non-peak hours(which is still shitty as I've said a few times) isn't remotely the same as telling them not to charge at all.

Over night I'm pretty sure is what their "Peak usage" is referring to.

Peak usage is not overnight

.from what I understand these cars take hours to charge
But given that you start each day with a "full tank" unless you're driving a bunch of miles in a given day, you don't need to charge up much in terms of miles nor would you need to fully charge for tomorrow if it's just your normal commute/routine the next day.

But 2035 every car needs to be electric?

Back to the horse and buggy days. I guess peta wouldn’t like that though. We’ll have to use our cars like the Flinstones and use our feet to move it.

Only once in 32 years have I not been able to get gas in my area,, only once in my 50 years of driving did I have to concern myself that a place I was traveling to might not have gas, it is a none issue . Having once been a pilot I understand the importance of fuel management when you can’t refuel anywhere and anytime you want, why would I want to deal with that while driving.?Just two weeks go I met a Tesla driver at the beach that was going to have to drive a hour out of his way to get home because of the location of charging stations.

Well, EVs aren't for everyone and no one is saying everyone should get an EV and an EV would be absolutely perfect for every type of driver. So it's not for you, no biggie.

EVs haven't been around a while, but where I live now, I'm pretty confident in saying 0 times in the last 32 years would literally the entire town and surrounding areas have no electricity and thus my home, destination chargers, and superchargers would all be a no go, and I would not have been able to get gas in my area.

Are you too stupid to realize that the strain on the grid will increase as more people are shoehorned into purchasing electrical vehicles in California? Right now, 6pm-9pm is "peak hours" because maybe 5% of vehicles are electric and need charging. When 100% of the vehicles require charging, the strain will be so great that basically "all hours" are "peak hours".

But that's what the left wants.
They will claim individually owned vehicles are 'selfish' and put too great of a strain on the system. Therefore everyone should consider using public transportation.

That's the next step.

The article is slanted, no doubt, but it's certainly a sign of things to come. It's bad enough to ask people not to charge during peak hours now, wait until the other 90% of vehicles in CA go electric...

Are you implying the "peak hours" are due to EVs?

The DemProg record of ultimately being proven completely idiotic is pristine.

It is almost statistically impossible to be as wrong as often as Democrats are.

Impressive. In a horrifyingly pathetic way.

Are you to stupid to realize that all I said was peak usage is not overnight usage, and you took that to then say a whole bunch of nonsense I never said when I only stated a fact to clarify an incorrect statement?

But is it really "things to come?"

It's really nothing new for the government to ask people to use less energy, that's been happening for ages. Again, not speaking to whether it's right or wrong or does/doesn't speak to the inept government here, I'm just pointing out this is something that's been the norm for about as long as I can remember.

Of course not. I live in Texas, my AC temp hasn't changed once overnight.

Not sure why you asked this though?
