With the lack of visible enthusiasm for Biden it is hard to believe this is necessarily an increase in democrat turnout. It may just be a shift in voting time.

That is what I am thinking. There is a good chunk of Ds who aren't over Hilliary's loss and hate Trump. They will show up and vote (most likely a large portion of the early votes) - they "can't to get Trump out" and think somehow voting early is going to accelerate the process. Then there will be the Ds who vote regularly and will vote on election day. However, I think there is a large group of Ds who will stay home.

I don’t believe so either. My wife is voting for Biden. I asked her why and she said because he’s not Trump. I asked her if she heard about the Hunter Biden mess or anything about Ukraine and she said no. She didn’t watch any of the debates or townhall interviews. She heard about how Trump acted in the first debate. She believes Trump is an anti-masker. I imagine she’s like a lot of white, educated, suburban women. Uninformed and holding a grudge over some of Trump’s behavior and comments. Zero insight on what’s best for the country and what’s best for our lifestyle going forward. Reads too many blogs on social media and feels like she’s making a difference for justice in the world. Here’s to hoping the minority vote can make up for it. Trump needs blacks and Hispanics to break his way.

I think you nailed a huge component in this election, white suburban women. I’ve met a ton of them and about all of them are exactly as you described.

Who is that lovely woman?

Jillian Mele.

She is on Fox & Friends First from 4 to 6 AM Eastern time M - F.

It’s a good show, much better than Fox & Friends.

Serious question, how do they know that? Exit polling?

How would they even know how voters who have voted were registered R or D?

No I think they are going by voter roll participation.

Those numbers aren’t reported yet I don’t think. I don’t think those numbers come out until after elections. I could be wrong but I’m pretty certain that’s the case

I voted today, they scanned my ID and did the whole sign the book fun. Because I am registered I imagine the system indicates how I am registered and that I have voted so I can't vote again

Wait so 22% of all voters are independent? That seems super high.

I’m not saying the voting commission isn’t tracking things. I question whether they are able to release information to the public until after the election outside total number of votes received.

I registered to vote in 2003. Selecting a party wasn’t even an option so I’m technically registered as nothing. (Registered in TN)

Yet the polls show something like 80% of Republicans will vote on Election Day. Don’t read too much into this.

The news media has to do something to upset old people so they use up their BP meds and have to buy more and to make young ppl anxious and stock up on Xanax.

Good, following Liberal Fascist views....Wal Marts will lose money on the 3rd because "smelly Republicans" won't be there to interrupt Strzok's shopping spree and the lines voting will be shorter. Hillary's basket will empty but not not her glass. Hell, we may hold a few rallies at voting locations.

It has little to do with enthusiasm for Biden. A lot of Democrats are enthusiastic to get rid of Trump.

My wife, son, and I are all registered Democrats and we all voted straight Republican tickets Saturday morning. Florida, btw.

There was an aggressive woman in an Alachua Democratic Party t-shirt going up and down the voting line passing out liberal propaganda. When she got to us, I pointed to the sign about 50 feet away (No Solicitation Beyond This Point) and told her she was violating the voting rules. She went back to where the sign was located. Called the county voting office this morning and complained about it...was told that they appreciated my call but couldn’t really do anything about it. Typical response in a liberal county, I suppose.

MAGA.

Still tons of early voting, older southern dems who vote for Trump plus trump taking +7ish from indy’s. I’m certain there’s a decent chunk of black crossover in that dem number as well.

Bigger early voting shift for dems due to greater covid fear. Republicans will own Election Day. If the numbers are historic, it’ll be a good day for Trump.

Many Republicans switched to independent as a way to protest how shitty the senate and congress GOP performed. I would venture to say that the majority of the 22% are leaning Trump.
