The “abomination” language is simply a statement that God doesn’t support something for His people who have been set apart from other nations. The word, itself, is used for all sorts of things, including idolatry and adultery, which are both included in the 10 commandments.
I’d suggest not using that argument anymore. It is dumb and makes you sound dumb.
