I would like to see the source on that. First, because fifty times sounds high. Second, I would like to see if it controlled for socioeconomic status, as illegal immigrants are disproportionately poor, and poor people are disproportionately responsible for crime.

Nope. Not doing any research papers. Did enough of those in the 70s. I do recall that one dealt with Calif. prison populations.
Going from memory about 3% of Cal's pop at the time were illegal immigrants. But they were 70% of inmates.
I also found read some info about European immigrants having a significantly higher crime rate than natural born US citizens since 1900. It was pretty extensive....especially with high profile national crimes.
Went back to Italians in the mafia and Germans like Bruno Hauptman, Sirhan Sirhan, etc.

No. I don't. For the last 40 years I've been reading 3 to 4 newspapers per day.

FWIW, I was listening to one of the morning Business Shows or Fox...and one of the guests said that the immigration issue will mostly be moot in the near future....because Mexico is passing Law that will OPEN UP their Oil Industry. Apparently they've been on the 'Green' AGW wagon...and are bailing. Guy said they are headed for a boom down there, and that a ton of workers will be swimming that Rio Grande headed south. Hell...I might be swimming with em', if this place keeps going to hell.

No they didn't. Penex is just a sclerotic national oil company that doesn't have the tech and know how to further exploit their rapidly declining major fields and explore their deep water prospects.
But yes an improving Mexican economy and an end in drug violence would likely stem migration more than harsh laws and fences.

High school aged girl, no license, no insurance.
Thanks Obama, democrats, and crony capitalist RINOs for creating the political climate to make this possible. We clearly need more of these illegals in our country. They are a positive and bring in no crime or problems. Only good things, unicorns, and rainbows.
