What type of work?

College guys and HS kids you may want to look at. You may go through a bunch trying to find some that aren't worthless and spoiled but it sounds like you are already burning through people so not a big change.

I started cleaning construction sites my soph yr in HS and was pushing a 12-15 man crew by the time I graduated.

There is still some decent hard working kids out there.

Increasing the pay scale will not encourage useless people. You telling me with people offering high wages the drug problem will go away? Why is Hollywood addicted to drugs?
I’ll pay you $75 a hour right now, You will work hard for a week hopefully. Soon as you get your first paycheck, you will become useless. You will call in sick to attend a LSU game, you will call in to attend “church.” You will call in to go shopping with your wife because of Christmas. You will call in in attend your child’s b-ball, football, or etc game. You will call in because your truck was broken into. You will call in because your Truck is broken down.
This is all facts.

$75 an hour would be a significant pay cut and I have not missed a day of work in 18 years, I now see why no one wants to work for you as you are a blithering idiot.

YES - especially in Destin FL where this is a resort town and nobody who needs to work locally lives here. It’s brutal. Right now I’m offering $30.00/hour and don’t even drug screen anymore. I don’t even care about background checks anymore. I’ve had maybe 6 people apply that worked in the hospitality industry that I simply can’t use

It’s brutally bad to find good help

What’s the job? Is it full time?

You’re paying too little. You’re getting what you paid for. How bout running your business in a competent way where you can compete with competition in the labor market and not blame the president.

It's the truth.

Give up any frickin' fantasy of a "big beautiful wall". Give up any hope of meaningful immigration reform.

That border is one big giant sphincter that will expand and contract based on the labor needs of this country. Period, end of story.

Anyone who believes otherwise is a sucker.

we need immigrants ASAP.

So you think it’s fair that American tax dollars go toward supporting immigrants so that you can make more money?

Eat a dick.
I hope you go out of business.

Good for you. Congrats on your success. I guess this thread should have been labeled differently.

You haven’t taken a single vacation day in 18 years? Either that’s an extreme exaggeration or you need to re-evaluate priorities.

No, I don’t want American tax dollars supporting immigrants. Let America do background checks on them and if approved I will sponsor their costs to be temporarily located here for work. I will pay every single penny. More efficient than paying Americans that think they are worth more than they are.

Christian charity is exacerbating the problem.

Yeah, no. The Church should be doing far more than it is.

If the Church did it's biblical duty, there would never be a need for government welfare programs.

He seems to be taking the position that by extending charity, the church (and presumably non-religious charities) are simply enabling bad behavior by the recipients of said charity. I get that logic to an extent, but it takes a pretty heartless person to suggest we should let babies go without food and diapers in order to teach their parents a lesson.

I take vacations a plenty but they are scheduled far in advance, hence the reason I did not miss a day of work.

That’s impossible. Too many successful investments. Too many idiots paying high labor wages they can’t afford with no ROI causing them to going out of business. After reading this thread, I might as well feast on struggling competitors and take them out. Nobody cares about creating opportunities I guess.

The church is being taken advantage of. Guilt is strong with people these days, I understand that.

But what happened to the biblical “not willing to work, let them starve”? Or is this more of the guilt-ridden cafeteria Christianity that makes you ignore it?

Oh, and the people getting their arse up over their back about paying higher wages will be the first ones to complain about high prices.
