Have you heard about the magnetic pole shifts that happen every so often? We have evidence of one about 12k years ago, and more before that.
South pole becomes north pole. In the process, we see evidence where the magnetic fields protecting earth from radiation were degraded to the point where we could see the radiation impacting surface of the earth. Aka - extinction events.
What you may not know, is that the magnetic poles are not stationary. There is a slight movement that is measurable. Well that “slight” movement has been accelerating.

This article has a map of the pole movement over last 100-150 years.

ok when do the condoms come into play here? I'm less freaked out and more intrigued now

Wait...then why do we need condoms? Wouldn't we want to repopulate the world as quickly as possible then??? IM SO CONFUSED AND SCARED

Precession changes the angle of the the incidence of solar radiation. In other words precession could bring the geographic pole closer to the incidence the current equator is experiencing. This does have an impact on weather patterns.
The magnetic poles (due to our iron core) protects us from solar radiation. As the magnetic poles shift there are gaps left in the magnetosphere and we get exposed to more solar radiation when we are outside.
But as I mentioned before, it depends on timeline. Humans are really good at adapting to slow moving natural phenomenon. We suck at reacting to catastrophic natural phenomenon.

Condoms are always in play.

I think moving trucks would be more appropriate - get ready to move to avoid hotter or colder weather or volcanic events?

Interesting. Does this mean the Earth's crusts (including oceans) are elongating or is the rotational axis shifting? Sounds like we could see a lot of crazy vocanic events and climate shifts right?
I thought this happened all the time, but I honestly don't fully understand this. Can someone maybe explain?

This is not the same as geo-north pole. Its not the crust/mass of the earth itself. Its the magnetic field generated by our molten core.
So the magnetic field fluctuating itself does not cause earth quakes and volcanos.
However; i’ve seen some information lately indicating increase earthquak activity when the ionosphere becomes charged from solar activity. It currently is - we’ve been getting some pretty gnarly solar storms for a few weeks now. The OP’s links talk about the one yesterday…. If you go search tue news you will find several strong earthquakes that coincide with the timing.

The magnetic poles flips are irregular in time. The last one was ~42,000 years ago. The flips are based on the slow moving currents of our iron molten core, like slow moving convection currents in a lava lamp. The currents are random and the consequential magnetic field from the movement of the iron core is from the electrical charge (one of the basic forces of nature) in the iron. I believe it is analogous to the Lorenz force, an electrical charged partial moving past a conductive material will produce a magnetic field.

Somehow man survived it 40k years ago.
I doubt it happens in our lifetime or even grandkids' but I'm sure everything will be fine.
