Harley is doing the same to themselves as we speak. FIL canceled his order for a 30K Harley Monday, ordered an Indian Tuesday.
What did Harley do?

Part of that is due to me quitting beer due to my diet plan.

Good, I have switched to Yeungling Flight.

Yuengling Light or Flight is a better beer. I was a Bud Light guy since college and I’m done.

I wish we could get stats on how many purchases are being made to give to someone to mock them. I would venture a non-insubstantial portion is in recognition of the meme status of the brand.

The boycott is silly. You'd think grown men have something better to do with their time.
So I guess if Bud Light ran a campaign that declared that they were The Beer for the Normal straight beer drinking American man... You'd be ok with that right?? no boycotting?

I don’t know if they can come up with one outside of trying to pay tons of influencers to salvage it.
There's no marketing campaign that can change it. The only way to do it (which they are to some degree) is to simply just flood/corner the market to create somewhat of a "monopoly". That is paying a ton of money to be the sole beer supplier at concert venues, stadiums, event venues, etc. to essentially create a scenario where the consumer's choice is either Bud Light or no beer at all (or, at least, no light beer). The hope being that if you force people to drink Bud Light they will eventually forget about their boycott and start purchasing it again.
It's eventually going to work. It's just going to cost a ton of money on the front end to do it that they otherwise would have have had to pay without the insanely stupid marketing campaign.
The bigger question is does this episode teach BL and other companies a lesson to stop making diversity hires with "elite" educational backgrounds who have ZERO concept of the consumer who funds their product?
