I realize she violated another country’s laws, and also that she isn’t exactly a patriot. But I cannot be happy about this. I feel bad for her.

What would be the icing on the cake is if Trump is able to somehow free her.

Good for her. She deserves every minute of it. Bet you that she wouldn't mind standing for the national anthem now. Maybe #BLM can go protest in the streets of Russia for being racist.

None of yall felt this way when Willie got busted in Dubai.

I think this is a horrible punishment for a tiny bit of dap oil. 9 years is ridiculous, whether you are in Russia or Singapore or UAE.

Putin has also asked for another individual to be released by us as well.

Can’t remember specifics but it was someone else convicted of serious crimes as opposed to a stupid fricking pothead and a guy railroaded for espionage.

"The court hereby sentences Griner to nine years in prison and a fine of one million rubles ($16,300)," Judge Anna Sotnikova announced.

I didn’t care when she was first arrested and I don’t care now. When you’re abroad you better know the laws. Idiot.

Not when you want to keep it out of your country.

BTW that is the same penalty range the US has for the same crime.

Thank God, justice was done with this desperate criminal, thanks to your new hero, Vladimir Putin. Not only that, but this may have helped slow the growth of globalism and the NWO!

Have you ever watched an episode of Locked Up Abroad?

Do not play games in foreign countries. Know the laws and abide by them. This is especially true in countries that aren’t exactly on the best of terms with us.

I think it's unjust by any reasonable metric, but it's also hard to discount her recklessness in doing it in a hostile place during a war.

My question would be - for her and Fogle - are they being punished in part because of their nationality and to gain leverage with America? And I think (but don't know for sure) the answer to that is yes. If so that's very predictable and there is some "stupid games" culpability here, but it's not necessarily just.

Wonder if she/he/it regrets kneeling and protesting during the playing of our national anthem .. I kind of doubt it. I have no sympathy for Griner. Enjoy your time in Russia, Brittney.

PT reaction to Griner getting sentenced 9 years for a little weed vape: "frick her that traitorous count...she got what she deserved"

PT reaction to guy getting sentenced this week for storming capitol with a gun: "Trump should pardon him asap...this is all a political witch hunt"

In July 2018, while residing in Washington, D.C., Butina was arrested by the FBI and charged with acting as an agent of the Russian Federation "without prior notification to the Attorney General." In December 2018, she pleaded guilty to felony charges of conspiracy to act as an unregistered foreign agent of the Russian state under 18 U.S.C. §951. In April 2019, a federal judge sentenced her to 18 months in prison. She served around 5 months at Tallahassee Federal Correctional Institution. Her 9-month pretrial prison term[15] was counted towards her sentence, and she was released in October 2019 and deported back to Russia.

I would grudgingly give the participants in this thread the status of being blessed with at least one more brain cell than a neanderthal. You all should be thrilled. Bunch of arse-??????????.
