Easy with the tin foil. The UK has a real money printer and a commitment from the BOE to pay the bills for the time being (which in central bank intelligista language means it's permanent). We can't do that and are entirely dependent on Congress during an election year for financial relief. It's a completely different scenario. Plus, the Brits are kinda little bitches now, I'd imagine their Karen per million is much higher than the U.S.

Not all of Europe is locking back down, though. E.g. Northern Europe is back in school with things open and with pretty modest increases. Anybody arguing the "lockdowns aren't ever justified because they only have temporary effect" has to contend with what places like Germany have down post lockdown.

It already started last week in Foreign Affairs mag. They advocate going on a strict lockdown whetein the only people allowed to work are the "essential" types. Under their proposal 65 % of us stay at home and suck off our savings or the govetnment teet for a minimum of 2 mos. Everyone should read it because if Biden gets elected or the Dems get a hold of the Senate that is where we will be heading.
The only way of enforcing this imho is to federalize the cops and get draconian in enforcement...

Meanwhile, in Sweden, where they did not lock down and did not mandate masks are living normal life. When are these bureaucratic messes of English-speaking nations going to follow the data and the science and back down from a baseless agenda of big-government intervention?
