The police screwed up for sure. Hopefully lessons are learned.
But police often give the person that called them the benefit of the doubt. Not usually this egregiously and stupidly, but it happens. Also this is reminiscent of Trayvon Martin and George Zimmerman, except the Brits immediately charged the killer with a crime and he was convicted.

Close your eyes and imagine it was the Muslim man that was stabbed, then hand cuffed and died while a white man got away with it.

That's exactly it. Those kunts know they fricked up. They were hoping beyond hope that Henry said something racist at some point in his life.

You're confused. No one has defended either the poor reaction of the police nor the criminal that has already been convicted.
I was just pointing out the actual circumstances that the police arrived because someone called them and said that they had been physically attacked. That was a lie, but the person that I responded to said that the police arrived because of verbal name calling and those are very different circumstances.
That doesn't excuse the initial actions of the police, but releasing the body cam footage might give a clearer picture of how bad it really was. I wonder if the footage hasn't been released because one or more of the officers are Asian and they don't want that fact to get out.

Killer has been jailed for 21 years today
Police are being referred to the IOPC, I hope there are some jail sentences but there will not be.
The body cam footage has been released and it a tough watch and genuinely quite upsetting. Henry states 9 times that he can't breathe, 3+ times that he has been stabbed and the officers response? "I don't think you have mate".
I hope someone in jail does the right thing.
