The CDC might have stopped tracking breakthrough infections back in May, but 24 states have not.

quote:

The data reported from these states indicate that breakthrough cases, hospitalizations, and deaths are extremely rare events among those who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (see Figure 1). The rate of breakthrough cases reported among those fully vaccinated is well below 1% in all reporting states, ranging from 0.01% in Connecticut to 0.90% in Oklahoma.

Kaiser is a liberal leaning group, but the stats they present in that link are very good. They actually did the hard work and the math and compiled the stats in a way so that they are meaningful. I do not care if you are vaccinated, unvaccinated, or f**k you I am never getting vaccinated you should email the link to your Senators, Representatives, Governor, and other leaders. New mask mandates are not needed and neither are new lockdowns.

Just avoid gay orgies and you'll be fine.

Tough for the left but we all have to make sacrifices

Did they include the thousands of people that have died within 3 days of getting the vaccine?

I know a handful of vaccinated people with pretty significant “breakthrough” infections. So my personal data says otherwise.

Unfortunate if you or anyone feels otherwise.

Or are you just looking for an internet kerfuffle?

Break through cases will continue to climb. I now know 14 different individuals with break through cases.

Yes, but adverse reactions and deaths are not rare when getting the vaccine

Also smart Doctor man. You should familiarize yourself with “antibody dependent enhancement” and worry about the next time you get the common cold.

That's actually some of the best info I've seen on efficacy of the vaccine. However, the information I'm looking for is how many people infected with Covid/Delta had been infected with Covid previously. I want to know how effective is the natural antibodies/immunity from surviving Covid before in the past year. Are the new cases from people that were never infected and unvaccinated? Or are they people that caught Covid last year, thought the vaccination wasn't needed, and caught the Delta variant too?

100% correct

But it's going to be pretty hard to convince skeptics of that when fricking Rochelle Walensky herself puts out doltish statements from the CDC which the media interpret to mean "vaccinated people transmit COVID-19 as readily as unvaccinated people," so everyone should go back to masking.

Yes but that does not affect me. Feel free to embrace the fear, or not.

I am a data guy and believe real science. My problem with the data thus far is they are comparing vax to non-vax cases using the numbers from the beginning of the pandemic. There wasn't a vaccine during that period so that makes the entire data set invalid. I need to see the dates and locations for the numbers they are using to make it valid.

The one bite house has been the worst about this. Using total deaths and then saying "only XXX were people who were vaccinated and that's only .0X%!" They know that's skewing the numbers and they do it anyway.

Thanks. Will monitor. Hope we can discuss this further as more data becomes available.

I know a small handful of people that have recently (within the last 2-3 weeks) gotten Covid, all of them were vaccinated.
