Rich people make money by putting their cash to work. They don't keep it sitting in the bank.
A big part of doing this is having investable cash when the shite hits the fan. Carrying 0% cash or cash equivalents is not an intelligent investment program.

You do realize that Trump has many properties that make up the vast majority of his wealth right? Properties like his are not "quickly liquified". Plus being put in a position of having to quickly sell a property would put him in a position of price taker instead of price maker. Fire sale situations would be detrimental for getting fair market value for his properties. That is why 30 days is laughable.
Sure. 95% is the vast majority. Funny that he doesn't even have 5% liquid.

I think you missed the part where he had less than 30 days to come up with this amount of cash. That’s kinda what sparked this whole conversation…..

Carrying half a billion cash or cash equivalents is flat out stupid. Your post is not worthy of reading. Are you Fani's accountant or something? Not the sharpest tack I see.

Right, so do it over 6 weeks if you want - just like Trump could have done.

But that is not what you originally said. Again, you are flailing.

The tax consequences mean it's some multiplier of the bond. The entire concept of him being able to do this efficiently/quickly is patently absurd.

Now, perhaps Trump being Trump means he has fewer outlets to pursue other avenues to come up with this, and not all of that is necessarily his fault. But "lol he can't even come up with 500m" is really stupid.

Agreed, that’s why they have others put it up for them. That’s exactly what surety companies do. But none would back him. Why do you think that is? If you have $14 billion like you alledge that you do, why would no one back you?

Which "surety" companies would not back him?

There is a simple and obvious answer to this question, yet so few here want to face the truth.

What you want the truth to be is not necessarily the truth. It is "hopium" though.

I think this is the right move by Trump. Make them come for his properties. The optics would be too much for even the compliant press to overcome.
