He could have handled it better. He could have asked for it to be on Fox News since the ABC debate was so partisan. She wouldn't have accepted, and he wouldn't have been so easily labeled scared.

If they start saying he is scared, then he can propose a Townhall with both of them taking random questions from the same bipartisan crowd...No Notes, no ear pieces, no questions to study beforehand, no false-fact checkers, just 1 host. Each of them take 5 random questions from the crowd, and 2 from each other.
He can also say, he already proposed a debate on Fox and had it scheduled for them, and she turned it down...He has already went to CNN and ABC for a debate that they chose, now it's his turn to pick in all fairness.

She was done in that debate as soon as they asked are people better off now than they were 4 years ago. She was done when Trump told her to go wake up Sleepy Joe from his nap and fix the border problem they claim to know how to fix....
