As bad as some folks like to make fun of these states for being poor, they are living high on the hog compared to the rest of the world.

We Americans don't understand true poverty until we visit other nations.

The biggest issue is the US government is never, I repeat, NEVER going to allow it. So you hold a vote? So what? Even if it passes, the US government will never recognize it. They won’t be allowed to leave. You are insane if you think the Feds will pay Texas on the head and say “happy trails”

I could copy/paste the reality; but I flood this website with said jargon repeatedly.

To spare my comrades, here are several links that may help elucidate the issue.

Because the U.S. government has been holding the door open against Texas' will.

Can Louisiana join up with Texas?

It would be sort of like the U.S. annexing Puerto Rico

Not really. Once Louisiana is away from the federal government it would free up all kinds of possibilities in regards to Oil and Gas and keeping all the royalties in louisiana.

Under close scrutiny, it becomes apparent that the federal government will not move to stop Texit once it’s been decided by the people of Texas and they most certainly won’t use the military. It’s just too impractical.

I would vote for it if given the chance. We have nothing in common with the filth in DC.

The reason they left the first time was because of the Mexicans pouring across the border. It’s come full circle. IMO People underestimate the possibility.

lol you idiots really think this has a shot? You can't even keep your libraries free of tranny strip shows for kids. Feckless conservatives will keep acting like its going to happen right on up to the point they realize Texas turned blue.

I will bet ANYONE 100 to 1 odds that it does not happen in any time frame you'd like.

Easy money.

Lincoln wasn't going to allow the south to leave. He said who would pay for the government?

I would like for the states to leave the union peacefully but it has never happened historically and I don't see that changing.

As much as I would love to deport all the California transplants the frick out, the state's economy would collapse.

Highly doubt it. Texas has 29% of the nations refining capacity by itself. That's almost 1/3. Plus we have a good port city in Houston. The problem would be the influx of people wanting to come here from other states.

I’m sorry, but I’m not buying what they are selling on that site. The feds just won’t recognize and then what? How do you propose Texas moves forward to force the issue? The US doesn’t have to fight. They simply blockade the ports in Texas, which the US says is their territorial waters, and there is no shipping. They then tell Mexico no shipping through there. Texas is completely isolated. No bullets need to fire. It’s a matter of too great of importance. The US won’t let them leave particularly after SCOTUS says they have no right to leave, which they would.

In what world would the US not just blockade the port? The question is not could Texas go it alone if a magic wand was waived and Texas was magically removed from the Union and had no ties to it. I think they certainly could. The question is would the US government allow it, along with the loss of military bases, a long southern border, tons of revenue, a massive economy, etc. That is an easy question to me. Hell no.

Yeah I agree. EKG is fighting a bold fight but the only way I can see it happening is through war
