Only white twitter warriors are offended. Native Americans don’t give a shite. We’ve been over this a dozen times.

I remember the Bullets.
We lived in Fairfax county when I was a kid for a hot minute.

You were a kid for a hot minute or you lived in Fairfax for a hot minute?

Keep the Spear logo on the helmet. Keep the team colors and uniforms. New team name: Warriors.

Did we ever get a tally on how many lives that name change saved? Surely the level of gun violence in the metro DC area declined sharply.

Less than 5% of the people are 100% pushing the entire control of and lives of the other 95% who are cowering in fear doing nothing.
Let that sink in.

I always felt the name was an honorary tip of the hat to Native Americans, not a derogatory statement. What gives?

It was.

When the team was created Redskin was not considered offensive. It even shows up in the writing of Indians during that period. Some used the term themselves.

It’s simply a term that’s gone out of fashion, like the world oriental.
