No, he was the real deal. A law school friend of mine was his attorney. He is a huge Trump supporter and was very well behaved.

Jacob Chansley was not released early.
His release date has always been scheduled for May 2023, and it was always part of the plan that he would be released to a halfway house for the final 2 months of his sentence.
His lawyer confirmed this several weeks ago.
