I have to assume you’re young, because this has been a known strategy by the Dems in metro areas for decades. It’s not as if they take years off; they do it every single election. It’s just not always enough to impact the outcome. In 2020 the effort was ramped up in key areas and it was enough to change a presidential election, so maybe people think it’s new but it’s not. And it certainly doesn’t just occur when they win.

We've got, what, over 100 posts in this thread. Loads of "informed" posters rendering (mostly) an opinion that this decision was made out of fear or simply part/parcel corruption, but can anybody explain how the fricked up printers/tabulators resulted in KL losing an election that outside of cheating she would have won?
Posted on 12/24/22 at 3:10 pm to AggieHank86
What was absolutely predictable was that Kari Lake would scream cheating if she lost.

Actual facts mean more than "it could have happened like we said, so it HAD to happen".
You could say facts, what's the word?...oh yea..LMFAO, facts always TRUMPS fantasy. LMAO

Yeah, cause questioning an election that had questionable happenings is unheard of.

Arizona law is clear: even inadvertent errors in election require setting aside result if it casts outcome in doubt. Intentionality is NOT required when the error casts actual winner "in doubt."
This correct.

The claim is false. I’m sorry you don’t like that description, but it is correct. The media is correctly reporting the story. It’s not their job to sugarcoat it for people. It was a false claim, and it should be called as such.
A news organization added its own descriptor. And in doing so, it chose to add one that could easily be construed by many readers as “lying” or “deceiving” in nature. They could have simply reported Lake made the claim, the judge ruled as he did and trusted the readers to draw their own conclusion on what that means.
It’s not sugar coating anything. It’s called being a responsible news organization to the public.
Believe it or not, my desire for the media to function as it was intended serves to protect you and your political views too should the current political and social environment swing the other way someday.
We’ll just have to agree to disagree on this one.

I mean….AZ showed it is tired of MAGA politics.
Masters lost
Hamadeh lost
Lake lost
Finchem lost
Several other non MAGA Republicans easily won their races.
People forget a third of the voting base here in AZ is Independent. Many of which would gladly vote for some Republican candidates but are really tired of all the MAGA “muh stolen elections!” nonsense
Kari Lake needed to win over independents and moderate Republicans and she simply failed to do so. Doesn’t help her to get more votes when she tells a huge subset of Republicans here to “go to hell” days before the election.

Where KL's case came up short is in the "if it casts the outcome in doubt" part. There is no way to look at all of the numbers in play and conclude that the errors made, purposefully or inadvertently, could possibly have changed election results.

Common sense that means nothing to cultists drone that can do nothing but sky screaming fraud if they lose an election.

The judge punted. You and I both know it. We all knew he would punt especially if wanted to keep living there.
There was no harm in redoing the election in Maricopa County. It would have restored a lot of faith regardless of who won. Now we have more doubt.
They don’t want transparency.

We can certainly agree to disagree, but I will say it’s a sad indictment of our educational system if using the word “falsely” makes a lot of people assume it means lying. I assume people are smarter than that, but I am an optimist. Merry Christmas!

I’m sorry, but this is just asinine. Hobbs won. There was no proof that any of this affected the outcome of the election. The judge made the correct call. He is not punting. To say there is no harm is only true for Lake. You are telling Hobbs that she has to win twice because Lake pitched a fit and sewed doubt. In what universe is that fair? If they do it again and Lake loses again, do you truly believe she will accept it that time? I surely do not. Do you just run it again a 3rd time. There will always be something else.

The judge said he would take the weekend to decide.
Releasing it today was to send a message.
