Bad Deal
Posted on 1/18/19 at 11:50 am to 90proofprofessional
A LOT of this year’s deficit is due to retaliatory tariffs from China killing exports by American citizens wishing to sell their goods to China.

Are seriously so infantile that you can't admit that Trump's approach was the right one?
Seriously?
My God just man up and admit you were wrong.

Wrong its soybeans, that china bought from Brazil......that we sold to Brazil and crossdocked to china. But it sounds good.
We need some of those magic bean plants Brazil has that suddenly started producing millions of tons of product overnight.

The point is that our trade deficit grew because of fewer Chinese purchases from the US and not because US purchases from China for the year we’re down.
Some may assume this deal represents closing the entire trade deficit the next 6 years and that is not true. If US multinationals do not move a lot of US production today into the plants they are building in China then this deal is roughly half of the deficit over the next year.
We know that the largest exporter in the USA, Boeing, has built a plant in China and expect to do $1 trillion there over the next ten years.

That is absurd.
Not even close to the truth.
The Brazilians as I proved to you have hardly any bean inventory and ours is at record levels.

I am not calling for his impeachment UNLESS he continues those tariffs after the goals of the 301 directive are met.
That would be the first definitive impeachable offense he commits IMHO.
He is not going to do that IMHO either so it is a moot point.

Has it never occurred to you why people give you shite like they do?
Damn dude, have some self respect. Your deflecting would be like if I had shown up last Tuesday morning blaming a galactic level beat down on the refs.
Take your fricking L like a man and move the frick on.

So hypothetically if China does boost imports from the US to these levels, who is the country that sees their Chinese exports disappear?
I think this seems to be a great outcome if actually realized by China, but I am curious how it would actually be implemented. Saying we will do this to x level is great, but how is that policed? What is the penalty if it isn’t?
This type of concession moves the story along, but still is not tangible enough to lift the tariffs. Until China truly bends the knee regarding IP issues and some of their predatory practices, I see no reason for the US to budge.

Point to one single post of mine that gives you that impression.
I am the one against the punishment of American businesses that import goods and manufacturing components by the government.
I am the one trying to protect the jobs at those companies.
And yes "f the trade deficit". There is nothing wrong with having a trade deficit with a country. It means our country is financially stronger and further advanced than is the trade partner or it means the goods simply are not produced here. Do you want to end a trade deficit with Columbia and prohibit coffee from being sold here? Do you want to ban bananas because importing them creates a trade deficit? Of course not.
Now explain to me how tariffs help our economy and why you hate American companies trying to grow their business.
