This is more alarming than what Trump said.

If the powers that be insist that we are going to go to war with Iran, I hope that it is limited only to air attacks and cruise missile attacks from the Navy. Wreck their shite, and let them clean up the mess. No ground forces in Iran. No nation building.

Bringing in the Dems is a genius move. They're part of the process, now.

They're part of the Congressional leadership. If he tries to act without their involvement he would be going completely outside of the Constitution.

The problem is that when you start bombing another country, you don't get to decide or control their response. Things can get out of hand in the Middle East quickly with Iran involved.

Sending an invasion force won't be a good thing

We wouldn't do that. However, more of the navy is about to be moved to put even more pressure on them.

At least the Russian narrative will finally end if something happens.

Iran has been pissed off at us for reasons that have always been unclear to me. It has been this way since I've been aware of foreign policy

We propped up a brutal dictator for decades in exchange for cheap oil. The Iranian revolution was a popular uprising with a lot of legit beefs with U.S. (and Brits)

That said, it was 40 years ago and now the regime is corrupt and repressive as the old regime and they have to hold up the U.S. as a bogeyman to justify their existence and utter mismanagement of the country (think North Korea)

Wouldn't be a bad idea. Withdrawal troops, isolate the area, stop dealing with OPEC. The more we deal with them it puts them on the world stage. Also have allies do the same.

I'll never understand NeoCons. Really ever. Or why Obama gave them 150 Billion in cash.

Your post is pretty much spot on, except for the money. The U.S. didn't give Iran $150 Billion. Never did and repeating the lie doesn't make it true.

As a part of lifting the sanctions, Iran was allowed to access billions (maybe $50 Billion) of their own money which was frozen in western banks, not even U.S. banks, in connection with a lifting of the sanctions that froze their money. And it was their money which was frozen. Their money. The lifting of sanctions allowed them to access their own money.

I agree with this totally.

frick em. We have oil and churches over here. I say we bus all their refugees back to them and get out of the whole place.

More sensible ME countries need the west. It would take 5 years for those countries to get their bad apples in line.

Make them deal with their own mess and who loves Allah More.
