I have been a HUGE supporter of BSA right to CHOOSE its "rules"

I have said they have every right to be Christian and require a Christian component to their private group...though I am atheist

I have said they have every right to preclude gay scout leaders in their private group...though I am pro gay rights (whatever that fricking means)

I say NOW that they have every right to change their charter on their private group to allow for both boys and girls.



I simply say:

1) They have the right to decide this and YOU have the right to not have your boy enrolled. They do NOT owe you a group

2) This doesn't "ruin" anything. Nothing at all. Gay marriage didn't ruin hetero marriage. This will not "ruin" anything other than the moods of those bothered by it. I will STILL respect an Eagle Scout the same as I respected him before.


Sorry, I do not get bent out of shape because private groups decide to change a way of doing what private groups have done before. I am sure there were many people aghast when some private boy school decided to admit girls into the school. I doubt it made the education process any worse at the school.

Love 'em or hate 'em the BSA became about how much money they could get out of individual scouts long ago.

Our young mam is in scouting right now and it all seem to be about paying dues, buying uniforms, etc, etc. The most important/best thing they get out of it each week is the flag ceremony...

I agree with those who endorse abandonment of the Boy Scouts in favor of creation of some new program. The problem with this is that there might be some DoD or Federal assistance to the Boy Scouts that would also be abandoned.

However, IMHO: FedGov and all of the apparatuses of FedGov are going to be aggressively politicized LEFTIST GLOBALIST as future decades unfold. So, given that, is abandonment of FedGov support and assistance going to be a bad thing?

Can boys join the Girl Scouts now?
