My best friend a conservative to which most on this board would be considered a liberal, committed suicide. He didn’t lack money ( trust fund), girl ( had the girl of his dreams), he had a medical issue that has yet to be understood. Shot himself with the gun he was afraid to shooT.

My biggest regret was not driving to Houston for thanksgiving though I found out he wouldn’t see me. Suicide doesn’t stick to political parties or political leanings.

No, for the longest time men reported having 2x as many, now men claim 6 while women claim like 4.5 or something around that. But, men overstate while women undercount

I wouldnt be surprised if the under 25 crowd has a big gap

I don't know and I don't even know where reliable information on that can be found.

Based on what I see online and anecdotes I hear, I also have the impression that young women on average have lots more sexual partners than they used to and that they only want to date "high-value" men, which then sets up a dynamic in which a small percentage of males are screwing lots of females.

But I can't give you a source that gives good numbers representative of the whole country.

Even the women I was talking about above are a niche group that I know about anecdotally. I have no idea how widespread the phenomenon I posted about above is.

I cant find a source that supports that

The data I see is all ~decade old, but it still shows men reporting higher body counts. Albeit, again men likely over report and women under report

I said they didn't have the Boy Scouts. I didn't say they didn't have anything. In fact, I said the opposite.

They had functioning family units, which is more important and has more direct influence than anything else.

Case in point, we still have the military and religious institutions today in the midst of this young male suicide problem.

And of course some people who commit suicide do so for biological reasons.

But given the nature of the trend and the fact that we're talking about males, but only males of a certain age group, the explanation for the uptick in this case being biological is unlikely.

I'm not sure whether you're arguing with me in good faith or because it's you know I'm not a fan of Israel, there are numerous studies backing up what I've said.

Most of us on this board are pretty moderate, so you're basically saying he was a liberal.

This board is monitored by federal agents for alt right/fascist extremism ideologies, we are not moderate.

Yeah.

Anybody who thinks this board is moderate needs to take a break from it.

I like it here because you can say what you want to say and nobody has a thin skin.

But it's anything but "moderate."

Nothing online is ever going to be moderate, whether its TD, reddit, x, DU or otherwise. Algos feed you want you to see, echo chamber of upvotes and downvotes (and for other sites, whatever the mods decree) is the narrative that gets said

Not to mention, true "moderates" would never spend their time talking about politics online. Most people who are moderate just dont really give af about politics. Romney republicans

Difference is this site isn't a curates algorithm. You see what real people say. Now some of what they have to say certainly comes from algorithms. But is 100 percent right. This place isn't anywhere close to moderate. And anyone that thinks that should probably take some time away from it and seek out some things that they might disagree with.

And they're also unaware that the guy is sleeping with other women

Women are more concerned with security than fidelity. If they are physically attracted and they think he would be a good provider, they will put up with infidelity. This is especially true when dating.

They usually have an inflated opinion of themselves and won’t date down. The guy can’t make less money than them, has to be taller (most want 6’ tall) and can’t be less educated. As long as those criteria are met, they will pick them over an average guy that would be faithful and treat them like a queen.

Only after they have been worn out, divorced, has kids and baggage will they ‘settle’ for a good guy. It’s the age in which we live.

Average Guys just want a virtuous and attractive mate. The above average guy won’t settle down because they don’t have to. Women keep throwing themselves at them so why settle down to just one.

I think some of this is amplified by the manosphere influencers. I'm neither rich nor tall and can find someone to sleep with. But in my older age I don't want to sleep around. Just not my style.

Men, it seems, do not make new friends as easily as women do

Wow Cubbies. Just wow. This might be your all time worst take and that’s really saying something.

Men have been told for over a decade now they are not allowed to gather and not allowed to share spaces and not allowed to be men and women must be allowed into every aspect and club in their lives so they’ve just abandoned all of them. The consequences of that action are going to be brutal one day.
