The Independent is a left wing rag. So some of their descriptors like baseless in describing theories seems a little prejudicial. But I think Bongino and Trump both were making pretty good bank before January. But now, Trump has the prized job and Bongino, not so much. I wouldn't let it take me down. I'd hand in my pink slip. And then write a book about how the FBI sucks.

They are going off what is in the file that was investigated by the previous regime - you know that regime that is now considered the most corrupt in our country’s history?
Newsflash: the files and data are corrupt or destroyed . They are having to dig deeper than what’s available in the files that the previous shady FBI put together. This is what you people don’t understand.

Bongino himself said just yesterday that they found "bags full" of incriminating files in a "secret room" that Comey kept. That thread is probably still on the first or second page here.
