Notice how foreign elections are going since USAID has been shut down. Lula is also claiming election interference by the Whitehouse

Pigs are flying! I agree with DeBoar.

Crushing USAID is one of the President's greatest accomplishments.

It’s currently at 65% counted and he’s now at 49.58% of the vote. It was higher in the beginning.

He needs 50% to win the round. I don’t know where there’s left to count, I know Northeastern Brazil, where the really bad murder capitals are (by Brazilian standards anyway) typically lean toward Lula’s side. Bolsonaro seems to get the São Paulo, Rio, southern areas.

Damn! So Bolsonaro can win it outright if he gets 50%?

Yes. They don’t go to a second round if someone takes 50% of the vote.

With more than two candidates, 50% takes it

Glenn has been a good follow because he lives there. He was beating up Lula the other day a bit, so he’s fair.

So... noninterference is interference?

Sort of like how silence is violence.

Looks it’s going to a second round, but that was expected. It was not expected for Bolsonaro to do this well.

The second round basically depends on how voters of the 11 non top 2 candidates from the first round participate.

Damn shame Paulo Guedes isn't alive.. He's the brains behind the elder Bolsonaro, converting him from a career statist, do-nothing politician. Hopefully, his son surrounds himself with equally good minds if he prevails.

It also helps Bolsonaro’s son isn’t ancient (45).

The last time Lula won in 2022, the first round pretty much went like this in his favor, margin wise.

TIL Cutting off USAID bullshite is definitely "interfering with Brazil's elections".

He’s still way ahead, he will win the runoff. This is another huge blow to China.
