Stag...something.

Some of us knew this was coming over a year ago. It ain't rocket science, yet here we are (have been for awhile now, actually).

Yessir.

The govt has used up most of their known resources trying to over stimulate the markets. There isnt much left when it finally goes off the rails.

Looks like manufacturing

Hmmm, I wonder why this keeps being a thing? Manufacturing output and jobs in the toilet since February.

The silver lining will be that once all of that manufacturing returns to America, will well have an experienced workforce, on the sidelines, ready to pounce like a cat.

Pretty surprising numbers in the household survey:

Foreign born jobs were up 50,000 in August.

Native born? They were down -561,000.

Of course. The nation could fall apart and as long as the Orange one is still POTUS you would be happy.

If we don't reverse course soon we're going to see a slaughter of small businesses as well. They can't weather the storm like huge corporations are doing.

Lost a lot of government workers. Though unemployed many are still or already have a severance that provided many months worth of income. Of course, this will not reflect or be talked about.

Getting rid of government leeches is an extremely positive development. They will now be able to use their expertise, analytical skills and outstanding ideas to form new ventures employing thousands for every 100 leeches laid off. Turning the leeches loose is a very good thing, don't ya think?

It will be glorious.

Stagflation incoming?

Very likely. CPI and PCE have been fairly sticky well above 2.5% even with the rates being held. It might have dropped by now had we not had last year's rate cuts, but c'est la vie.

If Jerry cuts rates right now (and he may), inflation is going to remain sticky or increase until we see Unemployment hit ~5% or more for a while. If it remains that way long enough though, we're going to see the consumer credit bubble pop and that's going to have brutal economic ramifications.

Kevin Hassett NEC director for Trump says the numbers were disappointing this morning, but August tends to be volatile and upward revisions may come.

These numbers don’t reflect real life. What kind of jobs were lost and which jobs were gained. Were they full time jobs? I know under Obama they counted all the people working 2 part time jobs twice. I don’t know anybody around me that would have a hard time finding a job either.

Me either, but it’s not like they’re awful numbers. They’re slowing, that’s the point.
