I mean you've kinda made the point for us. The bigger deal is that they are at a university and are incapable of thinking for themselves. Just because the media tells you something over and over again doesn't mean you should automatically believe them. If you're at a university you're supposed to be in the search for knowledge and truth and to understand the world around you not simply believe the popular opinion. That sort of negates a lot of life lessons one is intended to learn in college by being exposed to ideas that you may or may not ascribe to.

I guess it was about 15 years ago that the whole EMO thing got kinda huge and a lot of the EMO kids were self abusers. IE, "cutters".

You might also want to teach your children that there will always be people who think differently than them and that it isn't "respectful" to call the cops and demand the removal of people you disagree with.
