BLACK KINGS BUILT THE LEAGUE

Brooklyn Nets All-Star Kyrie Irving is urging the NBA to pay homage to the late basketball legend Kobe Bryant by changing its iconic logo to a full-on action shot of Bryant.
Since 1969, the NBA logo has featured the silhouette of Hall of Famer Jerry West, although the NBA has never acknowledged publicly that the outline of the player in the current logo is in fact West.
In an Instagram post Wednesday, Irving shared an image of Bryant dribbling a ball superimposed over the NBA logo and called on the league to make the change.
“Gotta Happen,” Irving wrote in the caption. “Idc [I don’t care ] what anyone says. BLACK KINGS BUILT THE LEAGUE.”
Bryant’s widow, Vanessa Bryant, also shared the image on social media with the caption “Love this,” while Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban told TMZ Sports last year he supports the change.
“I just think it’s so much more than basketball,” Cuban told TMZ. “He brought so many people together.”
The image shared by Irving is identical to one used on a Change.org petition also calling for the NBA to “immortalize” Bryant forever as the new logo.
The petition was created last year and has received more than 3.2 million signatures.
Last year, Yahoo Sports reported that the NBA has no interest in changing the logo to feature an individual player as there have been so many who have been instrumental to the growth of the league. LINK

they never got paid a penny for building this league, right?

And their King has killed the league.
The NBA should re-locate to China.
That's where most of their fan base is.

Naw, He isn't kneeling. How about honoring those that are destroying the league. Mr. Ego Lebron. Mr. China Lebron. Mr.Kneel for US Flag but not Chinese flag, Lebron.

They should only take black dollars

It's about time African Americans got some recognition from the NBA.

Okay. Well, they can have it. And keep it.
Cuban and his counterparts should walk away and let the kangz run it all.

Go for it. Do they think anyone cares what they do with their trash league?

Without whites, the NBA and even the sport of basketball wouldn't exist.

There's no doubt that many of the most talented athletes are black. Kudos to them.
Where their talents might have "built the league" - pushing their racist politics on viewers will also destroy it, lol.

Every team should have a minimum of one white American starter. It is only fair. The NBA should work to less black and more inclusive.

Jerry West did more to build the modern NBA than Kobe Bryant ever thought of

One white and one Asian would be more fair actually.

And was a better player. Kobe was the most overrated player in history, and also raped a girl.

I'm sure the NBA wants an accused rapist as their logo.

If it’s about black, then why not Jordan instead of Kobe. Jordan had more of an impact on what the NBA is than Kobe.
