I didn't know that the KKK was incorporated
When they reconstituted in the 20s...
In Indiana...
BTW...KKK had a HUGE presence at the national convention of one of the major political parties in 1924.
Wanna guess which?????

“Then he and his son went into a bedroom and saw, mounted on the wall behind a vanity, a framed, yellowing, whole-arse KKK application. “
Behind? Did the writer mean to imply “over?”
When I first read this it seemed to imply that they were moving furniture around and discovered this hidden nugget of racism.

Because we all know that the Democratic Party of 1824 shares the same ideologies of the democratic of today. Go read up on the history of the parties

Where does one even find an antique KKK application in Michigan?"
The Klan was very active in states like Michigan and Illinois back in the day.

I saw Invisible Empire open for Crotchless Pancakes at OzFest back in the late 90's. They were great!

They got business cards for sure. I got "carded" one night in Lake Charles and invited to join. I politely declined.

Sounds like he was trying to do his neighbor a solid.

I actually found a first edition of The Clansman at an antique bookstore in Michigan a few years ago.
Like someone said about his friend with the Klan rally photos, the historical interest of these items can be appreciated while still recognizing how unpleasant the content is.
