Aetna and NY Life sold life insurance for slaves. If they profited off of slavery, then so did every merchant that sold supplies that were consumed or used by slaves.
Are you arguing that slaves took out life insurance on their own lives?
With what money?
Do you think the payouts from these policies went to the families of slaves?

Most of the arguments I've seen for reparations don't call for payments to individuals. They call for investment into black communities, which looks like infrastructure, after school programs, etc.
ETA: They also call for them to paid for the people/institutions who accumulated big wealth from slavery, like JP Morgan Chase, Citibank, NY Life Insurance and Aetna.
ypur quintessential worthless white bitch, right here

Are you this hateful to everyone who presents ideas with which you're unfamiliar, or do you reserve this behavior for only when you can hide behind anonymity and a keyboard?

With that kind of money there, they can be kangz n' shite.
They could afford a toilet unlike their "kind" in Africa who just shite anywhere. You see the white south Africans are building a city with running water in the desert

Now hold on.. let’s see the reply to her absolute false claims that there aren’t many reparations studies giving payments right to people and the reply of the overwhelming evidence of fraud and lack of improvement of the black community by BLM.

Lazy arse grifters need to be given 100k each, citizenship revoked, and repatriated to the country and tribes that sold their ancestors centuries ago.

Holy shite you really are stupid.
The owners insured the life of the slaves.

Wait, are you saying BLM = reparations? I disagree with that claim.

Are you not able to read posts? I'm curious why you think I'm claiming slaves "consumed" their own life insurance policies.

I did not. I offer BLM as a study on what your picture of reparations would be. Here is the quote from my post:
quote:
You think “investment in black communities” is a real priority? Other than lip service? Ok. Then explain where all the BLM donations went. Any scholarship funds? New schools? What? Where did the money go that Tyree Conyers-Page raised for BLM Atlanta go? Where? Remember what Tamir Rice’s mother said about BLM? “they are benefiting off the blood of our loved ones, and they won’t even talk to us.”
So you may continue.

You're claiming that I'm claiming BLM = reparations?
You're not making any sense.

Again. I did not. Take a deep breath and read again. Take a short break if it’s too hard and then come back and try again.
Edit: annnnnnnnnnnd she gone.

That's cute, coming from the guy who is so upset by ideas his ignorant brain hasn't heard of before that he's seething at his keyboard and anonymously calling strangers names on the internet.
Bless your heart.
ETA: maybe not calling people names, but laughing at the people who have been exposed to ideas that can be found outside of this echo chamber.
Carry on.

How about we pay reparations but then cut out all current and future EBT, Welfare, Medicaid and food stamps.
It would be a win for the taxpayers

I'll support them getting a one-time payment of $75,000 each, but they had to revoke their United States citizenship and move to Africa. With that kind of money there, they can be kangz n' shite.
You will have many supporters.

Seems like a better argument against there being any need for reparations.

frick that action! No matter how much we could collectively give the race hustlers seeking this...it will never be enough...they will still bitch and moan after they get the $$$.

You are actually the one coming into these threads with a savior complex.

Ideas we haven’t heard of? Ideas like handing the minority community handouts to improve their lives? Oh I think we have ALL heard of those ideas.
Now back to the topic prior to your deflection. Your quote:
quote:
Most of the arguments I've seen for reparations don't call for payments to individuals.
Now you have been shown this is false or you haven’t looked very hard.
quote:
They call for investment into black communities, which looks like infrastructure, after school programs, etc.
For which I replied:
And you have been further shown of the fraud of the national BLM heads that have bankrupted the organization by spending on lavish cars, do nothing huge salaries, homes, vacation homes, clothes, etc.
All of the combined donations to all BLM chapters is enough in money to pave every last mile of US interstate highway. Money that could have been used for “infrastructure improvements”. Where did it go?
Now you wanna give MORE money?
quote:
but laughing at the people who have been exposed to ideas that can be found outside of this echo chamber.
Handing the minority community more money for “improvements” IS the echo chamber if you haven’t noticed.
Now to the next deflection….
