For foreign nationals, the photos can remain in a database for up to 75 years.
When they do, there is nothing keeping the exiting Diego Sanchez (with convictions or current warrants) from coming back as Joe Smith from South Africa (with a clean record) ....EXCEPT biometrics.

you think a man with mental problems trying to hang his wang out in front of pre-teen girls in the bathroom at the mall is the same as facial ID for people leaving and entering the country?
I suppose I would have concerns if young girls were told to use open air bathrooms. Why would anyone allow their child to use a bathroom like this? Where could anyone even find one? All the women’s restrooms I’ve ever used had stalls or were just a single bathroom. Not sure what kind of places you take your daughter but I guess that’s a different discussion.

Serious question, do you know how a passport works? Have you ever flown international?
Yeah and never did I notice federal agents snapping pictures like paparazzi when I debarked.

Of all of your retarded takes, this one is extra retarded.
Noted. I hope I can recover from your profound disapproval.

You’d people have no ability to feel shame. That allows you to say anything.

This doesn’t bother me. We need to know exactly who is coming into our country
Do you think this is the only way we can know who enters our country?

Are you glad white Christian males were killed today, the great oppressors

If you trust that they’re kept for only 12 hours…
Is there any evidence that there isn't?
People would lose their jobs and potentially go to jail.
I don't think the US government needs that picture.
Though...
It would be a fanatically good piece of data for training transformer models....
Though they don't need the picture anymore once it's been run through.

Help me out here. Why do you care if they take a picture of you in an airport? Especially if it helps with security?
I have a problem with the government tracking lawful citizens. I don’t see how this helps with security.

I don’t have a lot of sympathy for folks from a country who will jail people for thought crimes complaining about something like this…

I haven’t seen evidence either way. Just the claims of our benevolent government.

For what? Following orders?

I mean...one would have to think everything they do at an airport is on camera already, right?

They are probably training the neural net based on those photos.
Once it's pulled into the training I'm not sure they would still need it.
It would make the Facial Recognition AI that much better at figuring out the right people after years between pictures.

On a return from Germany, I went up to the gate, I posed and they passed me along. It happened quickly. I never showed my passport in which they have a picture anyway.

I don’t believe years pass between the government taking/collecting pictures of US citizens.

Well immigration at DFW was doing this at least three years ago. No showing your passport on arrival, just filter through the booths as it takes your photo and links it to your passport
