A healthy free society is one in which the government is transparent, ethical, secure and stable enough for the people to speak out against it.
Anyone in a capacity of control who is seeking to limit the ability of dissent is not someone who feels secure in their position.
Which then begs the question, “why” don’t they feel secure? Do they truly feel they are conducting their own business in an ethical and open manner?

Agree, bots and the algorithm are the problem, not unrestricted speech.
In normal discourse, batshit craziness isn't taken seriously and the purveyors are pushed to the sidelines.
But with algorithm driven online platforms, heavily influenced by botting, craziness is amplified and artificially passed as widespread sentiment.
