It really infuriates me. He’s said multiple times on his show that he’s highly considering following Rogan and Shapiro’s lead and leaving California for Texas. Adam Schiff is his Rep, and he lit into him about how he’s fricking him over in his tax dollars. Hey Bill, how about you don’t vote for him next time? Bill Maher is considered by many to be highly intellectual. The eloquence, vocabulary, grandeur, whimsical quips, all noticeable and part of his persona.

Meanwhile he is stunned by every action every redneck trailer park baw absolutely told you would happen with regards to cancel culture. How could someone with Mayer’s academic pedigree fail to see this? Makes you wonder.

This is a bad read - yes, Ed Meese was still chasing down pornographers in the 1980s, but the evangelical right was already losing influence (outside of a handful of fairly narrow areas) in the "censorship" arena by the time of 1990s. Remember the PMRC? That was censorship from the left (Tipper Gore was the chair).

And Maher's "Politically Incorrect" was a riff on the political correctness movement that arose in the 1990s under Donna Shalala, a Clinton official, who pioneered modern PC culture with speech codes at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. 90%+ of censorship in the West since 1990 has come from the left. #Wokeness is just one of the most recent arms or strands of that.

Personally I think he’s growing really bored with the show and done entertains mindless drones. It’s cool if you’re a liberal and debate/disagree with conservatives…..unfortunately that era is done. It’s buried. We are now in the era of political division, bullying, and ABSOLUTE CONQUERING.

Bill is late to the party, but he’s discovering there is ZERO that is funny about where we are and where our current trajectory is taking us.
