When Politically Incorrect first came out on Comedy Central in the mid 1990s or so, Maher was at his best. I thought most of his opinions were very sound, he wasn’t that liberal, he had opinions he would never say in today’s world, and he was very funny back then. Those old shows are very hard to find, YouTube doesn’t have many. By the time he was at ABC, I had developed a disliking for him, nowadays I mostly despise him and his TDS. Very early Politically Incorrect shows were very entertaining. Good guests, good discussions, Maher had good takes most of the time. If you can find those early shows on Soulseek or something, you could see for yourself.

America was racist - but so was the rest of the world - and most of the world still is - be a black guy and walk around in China - I’ve seen it first hand. America isn’t a racist country systematically or other wise. How can I say that because black skinned people from other countries do very well in this country compared to their american counterparts - why? Culture. The liberals need racism - without it their batshit crazy ideas fall apart. Maher is right - I don’t care if he spent 20 mins making fun of a retard. That’s comedy and it’s a free country. I would have laughed for sure. Retards are funny - so are race jokes - why because there is truth in them. Everything can be made fun of. That’s comedy.

Bill Maher was the original victim of cancel culture, when they cancelled his show and kicked him of broadcast tv for his honest, accurate, and humorous comments following 911. He is a smart & genuine enough guy and at times he can be likable & agreeable...but make no mistake he is incredibly arrogant and smug, a rich punch down narcissistic elitist, and it wouldnt surprise me in the least if he was an eager participant in cancel culture not so long ago because that is right up his alley and fitting with his personality
